Rescue operations based on VANET (Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks) technology, is a field of ICT which is in desire need of green communication. Not only a rescue operation should not disturb people who leave nearby, but also it has to be be performed in such a way that lessens any possible damages to the surrounding environment. In addition, due to the delicacy of a rescue operation, it has to bring into account optimum energy consumption. However, any proposed solution has to be implemented in an efficient way meaning that it requires to guarantee high quality along with acceptable range of communication. Green solutions in VANETs have considered several parameters involved such as Travel Time Index, Buffer Time Index, Average Delay per Trip and etc.
